Classes are grouped by seasons and then by level and the program. Once you find your art class, click on the title of the class. Course Description
​If you’re a beginner looking to create your very first pot on the wheel, or an old pro looking to broaden and develop your ceramics skills and find your own artistic style, this class is for you. We’ll explore functional forms such as bowls, mugs, and lidded pieces. and concentrate on the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, surface treatments, and glaze techniques. ​The $40 material fee is included to cover the first 25 lbs of clay, use of tools and glazes, as well as firing. You will also have an opportunity to come to designated open studio times to practice your technique. Open studio time is not an instructional time, but a time to work on methods taught earlier in the week and meet with other students to commune and discuss your work. Using both hand-building and throwing techniques, you will learn (or master; depending on your wheel throwing experience) cup forms and cylinders. Get a crash course in the fun and exciting world of fashion design. Learn how to design a capsule collection of garments from start to finish. You may bring your own inspiration for a collection and will learn how to make a mood board and a fabric board. Expect to learn the basics of figure drawing for fashion design, rendering fabrics and garments on the body, and creating a cohesive collection of looks. At the end of the class, you will have your own fully finished presentation of a mood board, a fabric board, and a fully rendered collection of 10 fashion looks with design details.

Teen Drawing Studio
Learn how to see differently and draw with confidence.
This class introduces students to the fundamentals of drawing—like line, shading, proportion, and perspective—while encouraging creative exploration. Using materials such as graphite, charcoal, and ink, students will observe the world around them and experiment with how to capture it. The goal isn’t perfect realism, but learning how to make clear, intentional drawings with a range of tools and approaches. Unexpected outcomes are welcome—and often the most exciting part.

Understand paint by working with it—layer by layer.
In this hands-on class, students will explore acrylic and watercolor painting through direct experience. They’ll mix colors, test brush techniques, and experiment with different ways of applying paint to understand how it behaves and responds. Each project builds skill through doing not long lectures, just guided practice. Mixed media elements will also be introduced to encourage curiosity and creative thinking.

Mixed Media Drawing and Painting

Explore the fundamentals of drawing and painting with graphite, ink, acrylic, gouache, and charcoal. Through a variety of activities, you’ll experiment with different techniques and mediums while developing your personal artistic voice. The class will cover key skills such as sketching, shading, mark-making, color mixing, and brush techniques, with a strong focus on effective composition. This class is designed for students with some wheel experience looking to take their work to the next level. Weekly demonstrations will focus on more advanced forms including larger two and three piece vessels, decorative lids, and large platters. Advanced surface and glaze application techniques will also be explored. Classes will include a brief weekly group critique designed to help students develop a more critical eye towards their work.
The $45 material fee is included to cover the first 25 lbs of clay, use of tools and glazes, as well as firing. You will also have an opportunity to come to designated open studio times to practice your technique. Learn how to create clear, well-composed digital art using real-world design tools.
Students will begin with sketches, photography, or collage before bringing their ideas into the digital space using GIMP. Other applications such as Procreate and Adobe Photoshop will be discussed.

Students will explore key graphic design principles like composition, contrast, and typography—learning how to structure and refine a visual message. Projects will move between hands-on and digital work, giving students the opportunity to experiment with tools and build design skills at their own pace.

In this fun, easy-going class your child will hone fine motor skills, build confidence, and problem solve; all while expressing their creative vision. 

Students will learn about the ceramic process & create unique sculptures using basic techniques. Slabs, pinch pots, and coils are the foundations of pottery and will be transformed into stunning works of art. Throughout each project, the students will explore texture, surface treatment, all while focusing on their amazing three-dimensional compositions.

If you have always admired oil paintings and the luminous qualities they have and wonder if you could explore this medium but didn’t know where to start, this painting studio is for you. 

This course covers the essentials of oil painting. You will learn about materials, color mixing, and brushwork, and complete a small still life in each session. You will also have the opportunity to observe painting demonstrations by the instructor.

Beginner and intermediate level painters are welcome!

You will have to bring your own materials.

Do you love playing in the mud? Make “mess” into a masterpiece by joining us for an 8-week-long pottery course to master your pottery skills. Learn the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing. Create handmade functional pottery, experiment with various glazes, and learn about safety in the ceramics studio. Students will leave class with finished pieces to share with family and friends. Be ready to get messy! This course includes a $40 materials fee. Materials include one 25 lb bag of high-fire clay, firing fees, and use of glazes, and tools. 

The use of tools, glazes, and the 1st bag of clay are included in the cost of the class ($40 materials fee). Just bring your imagination (and some shoes & clothes you don’t mind getting muddy)! ​
