Classes are grouped by seasons and then by level and the program. Once you find your art class, click on the title of the class. A pop-up window will allow you to select the class for yourself or for another student in your family. After your class(s) is selected, you may finish your enrollment by using the checkout button.

771 Sunday Afternoon Adult Wheel Throwing Adults/18 & Older

Course Description
​If you’re a beginner looking to create your very first pot on the wheel, or an old pro looking to broaden and develop your ceramics skills and find your own artistic style, this class is for you. We’ll explore functional forms such as bowls, mugs, and lidded pieces. and concentrate on the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, surface treatments, and glaze techniques. ​The $40 material fee is included to cover the first 25 lbs of clay, use of tools and glazes, as well as firing. You will also have an opportunity to come to designated open studio times to practice your technique. Open studio time is not an instructional time, but a time to work on methods taught earlier in the week and meet with other students to commune and discuss your work. Additional clay, glaze, and firings are available. Pricing for those materials will be discussed on the first day of class. ​

Cancellations must be received 10 days prior to class. After that date there are no refunds or credits available. Missed individual classes may be made up when there are open spots in other classes.

Explore fundamentals or expand your skills in acrylic painting. Through a variety of activities, you’ll experiment with different techniques, styles, and subject matter while developing your personal style. The class will cover key skills such as sketching, color blocking, building layers, color mixing, and brush techniques, with a strong focus on effective composition. Whether you’re looking to refine your skills or start a new creative journey, all styles and skill levels are welcomed and encouraged. Mixed media methods will be explored for those interested in going beyond acrylics. This course is designed to help you to capture the subjects that inspire you and to develop your unique signature painting style.
Materials List
Minimum required materials. Additional optional materials will be discussed throughout the class session. Links are provided as suggestions only. Materials can be different brands or from other retailers. 

  • Acrylic paint in a reputable brand (Suggested: Winsor Newton Galeria or Professional, Liquitex Professional, Golden Heavy Body or Open). Minimum Colors: Titanium White, Mars Black, Raw Umber, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Green (choose any you like), Cobalt Blue (Windsor Blue, Phthalo Blue, or Ultramarine Blue are also fine), Crimson or Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow Light. 
  • An extra tube of titanium white acrylic paint
  • Suggested (optional) additional colors: Magenta and Paynes Grey
  • An assortment of acrylic or mixed media brushes in flat, filbert, and round. Does not have to be the brands below. I suggest getting at least 4 sizes between sizes 2 and 12 in each type.

FULL

Using both hand-building and throwing techniques, you will learn (or master; depending on your wheel throwing experience) cup forms and cylinders. Creating your own style will be encouraged as we create surface textures,  handles, spouts, and decorative features. Our class will be flexible based on student interests and demonstrations.

The $40 material fee is included to cover the first 25lbs of clay, use of tools and glazes, as well as firing. You will also have an opportunity to come to designated open studio times to practice your technique. Open studio time is not an instructional time, but a time to work on methods taught earlier in the week and to meet with other students to commune and discuss your work ( open studio times will be discussed during the first class and should be used to practice ). 789 Tuesday Teen Wheel Throwing & Ceramic Handbuilding Teens

Stay calm and throw Clay! This class is for students with little to no ceramic experience, or those who would like to advance their skills on the potter’s wheel. In this 8-week class, hands-on instruction will include wedging, centering, throwing basic forms, trimming and glazing. As time permits, intermediate techniques such as handling, lidded and altered forms, and surface decoration will also be covered. Students will leave class with their very own handmade functional art pieces!

​The $40 material fee is included to cover the first 25 lbs of clay, use of tools and glazes, as well as firing. Additional clay, glaze and firings are available. Pricing for those materials will be discussed the first day of class.

Course Description
In this fun, easy-going class your child will hone fine motor skills, build confidence, and problem solve; all while expressing their creative vision. 

Students will learn about the ceramic process & create unique sculptures using basic techniques. Slabs, pinch pots, and coils are the foundations of pottery and will be transformed into stunning works of art. Throughout each project, the students will explore texture, surface treatment, all while focusing on their amazing three-dimensional compositions. ​Class cost is $235 with a $45 materials fee (included) ALL NEW LESSONS!

​foundation that will inform and inspire their vision and imagination. We will explore line, shape, color, texture, shape, and pattern through creative 2d and 3d works of art. We will be creating and exploring drawing and painting techniques, collage, and sculpture, all in a variety of mediums and styles. The study of famous artists will be introduced through age-appropriate literature and vibrant visuals. This class is dedicated to providing children with inventive art instruction and projects that will enhance their creative problem-solving skills, as well as encouraged out-of-the-box expression. All materials are provided.

788 Saturday Morning Teen Wheel Throwing Teens

Course Description
Do you love playing in the mud? Make “mess” into a masterpiece by joining us for an 8-week-long pottery course to master your pottery skills. Learn the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing. Create handmade functional pottery, experiment with various glazes, and learn about safety in the ceramics studio. Students will leave class with finished pieces to share with family and friends. Be ready to get messy! This course includes a $40 materials fee. Materials include one 25 lb bag of high-fire clay, firing fees, and use of glazes, and tools. 

The use of tools, glazes, and the 1st bag of clay are included in the cost of the class ($40 materials fee). Just bring your imagination (and some shoes & clothes you don’t mind getting muddy)! ​
Cancellations must be received 10 days prior to the start of class. No refunds or credits will be extended after that date.

787 Saturday Middle School Drawing & Painting Teens

Course Description
Teen Drawing Studio
Learn how to see differently and draw with confidence.
This class introduces students to the fundamentals of drawing— line, shading, proportion, and perspective all while encouraging creative exploration. Using materials such as graphite, charcoal, and ink, students will observe the world around them and experiment with how to capture it. The goal isn’t perfect realism, but learning how to make clear, intentional drawings with a range of tools and approaches. Unexpected outcomes are welcome and often the most exciting part!
